After the disbandment of the local British Legion Band, Weston Silver Band was formed in 1963. The name has changed twice over the years to Weston Concert Band and finally in 1994 to Weston Brass.
Weston Brass brings together the best of local musical talent to perform for the pleasure of entertaining others. We are a band of over 25 musicians of all ages who have acheived first section status but are currently graded in the Third Section of the National Brass Band Championship League. Under the baton of Musical Director Tony Osborne the band are progressing from one musical achievement to another with a recent 2nd at Torquay and 1st at Leicester.
The band supplements its contesting by performing concerts in and around the North Somerset area. However the band has played as far away as Hyde Park and St James Park in London and in Europe. The band has also appeared on television as part of the Ground Force spectacular, see our 'Ground Force Jill's Garden' page. The band has also appeared alongside many other celebrities.
The band aquired charity status in 1997.
1998 saw the band win a Lottery Grant award which allowed them to purchase a full set of new instruments.
